Stirling Moss, now knighted by Queen Elizabeth has been one of the greatest automobile racing drivers of all time. He won the Monaco Grand Prix May 13, 1956 defeating the Lancia Ferrari of Fangio, Collins and the Maserati's of Behna end Castellotti amongst others. The painting shows the great driver against the water and scenery as it was then. He won again in 1960 and 1961. The superior human over the superior machines he competed against.
